Sprouting Rice productions was established to stage their first production, The Last Five Years, at the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival in February 2017.

 

Nick Wilkinson and Courteney Mayall, both well-known Hamilton performers, had been in discussion about the possibility of staging The Last Five Years when Jason Wade in conversation with Nick mentioned he thought that Courteney and himself would be great in the show and he would love to direct it. From here things flourished.

 

Nick Wilkinson had recently been working with Nick Braae, a recent doctorial graduate and the three enlisted his talent to become musical director of the production.

 

The group hope to not only stage the production at HGAF but take it further afield in early 2018.
